Autumn Reads For #Careerlions

Autumn Reads For #Careerlions

This week I will share with you the books that I currently have on my autumn reading list. Inspired by the autumn weather that we are currently experiencing in the Netherlands. It makes me want to curl up on the couch or chair with a good book, tea, and snacks. While reading in the sun has its charms, so does rainy weather while be grateful that you are nice and cozy inside. If anything, there is nothing I hate more than being in the rain. Wondering which books to order for the plentiful rainy days to come? Then look no further and find some suggestions in today’s blog.

One of the books that I wanted to buy every time I had a quick glance at Schiphol was Work Rules by Laszlo Bock. The book promises to give you insights from inside google that will transform how you live and lead. It was also voted to be the top business book to read by the Daily Telegraph, Huffington Post and Business Insider. I mean, who doesn’t want to learn from a company that has indoor slides and is known for their impressive culture. I can’t wait to learn from Bock about this brilliant organization.

Yuval Noah Harari in his book Sapiens spans the whole of human history. This book has tremendous ratings and recommendations. I mean, what can I say, if Barack Obama recommends the book: “Interesting and provocative…It gives you a sense of perspective on how briefly we’ve been on this Earth.” Many recommend this book as mandatory reading and life-changing. I need to read what the fuss is all about for sure.

The prequel of Sapiens is Homo Deus, again by Yuval Noah Harari of course. This book is dedicated to a brief history of tomorrow. Again, the author is praised by many about this book. All of them stressing the importance and accessibility of this wise read. Honestly, I am so curious what this author brings that is appreciated by so many.

8 Steps to High Performance by Marc Effron is a new title by the Harvard Business Review Press. Which promises a powerful and practical book based on research as we can always expect from them. The book is about focusing on what you can change and ignoring everything else. Aiming at helping people with focusing their efforts on making the most impact on their performance. Revealing the eight dimensions that will make the most impact, offering you the science behind as well as the practical steps to improve each of these dimensions.

The Genius Habit by Laura Garnett is a guide to find your own “Zone of Genius”. A zone where you feel challenged, fulfilled, and happily engaged at work. This book is targeted at #careerlions of all ages and levels, helping you to spend more time in your “Zone of Genius”. It promises to provide you the tool you need to gain clarity about who you are and where you are going, and how to proactively create the career of your dreams. Thus, a must-read for #careerlions.

What is on your autumn reading list? Which books to you plan to read vigorously in the coming months? How about any of these books on my list? Share it with us, please.
