My 30 before 30
I’ve spend the past week in the French Alps. I was so pre-occupied with learning to ski, New Years’ Eve passed by before I knew it. Seriously, I was in bed by 22.30 and missed counting down to 2018 and the start of working on some new goals! Inspired by one of my favourite fashion and lifestyle Youtuber Samantha Maria, I came up with my own 30 before 30 list. The list consists of 30 goals that one would like to achieve before turning 30. These goals can be divided into work, life, and play. As I will turn 30 halfway 2021, I thought this would be a great moment to share some of my goals. Read on, if you’re curious to know (or would like to help by keeping me accountable)!
Needless to say, this is the part of the list reserved for true #careerlion goals. When it comes to work, I would love to stay active in the infrastructure construction field. And when it comes to that, I would love to lead my own project team and get on Megastructures, as that is where only the biggest and most challenging construction projects are documented. I would love to learn both a language and programming language. Of course, a girl can dream a bit, so getting on the Tim Ferriss Podcast or having a TED Talk would be really cool. Oh, and another really excited work related goal? I just started on writing a book!
My life related goals are mainly sports oriented. I aim to become a flexible yogi, learn a martial art, learn to ski, learn to pull myself up and run a 10K under an hour. To keep in touch with my Indonesian roots, I would love to learn how to cook Indonesian from my mom and grandma, as they are great chefs. I would love to declutter and Konmari my house. To stay sane while doing all of this, I would love to practice meditation daily.
Now, what is life without a little bit (or a LOT) of playing? And for me, playing mostly comes in the form of travelling. Before turning 30, I would like to see the Northern lights, take road trip in the USA, visit a Harry Potter theme park, take a safari in South Africa, hug a koala bear in Australia and visit The Shire in New Zealand. I am actually working to realize three of these travel goals later on this year!
