Fitness programs that fit the Career Lion lifestyle
Focussing on your career and maintaining a good physique can be quite the juggle to manage. Clearly, cutting on career wise activities is not an option. Reducing the required time to maintain your killer body is actually possible. We have tested several of the great options out there and listed them for you. All fitness routines take a maximum of 40 minutes per training and are guaranteed fun.
Youtube sensation Cassey Ho has created a new sport genre called POP pilates, which is a love baby between traditional pilates and pop music routines. Cassey offers monthly calendars that provide you with a selection of her workouts every day. The length of the workouts varies from five up to 25 minutes. Casey puts a lot of energy in her workout videos, which make doing them a lot of fun. Personally I am a big fan of the on fire HIIT workouts that target your muscles in only several minutes. Cassey is also known for her POP song challenges, targeting one specific move for an entire song.
Kayla Itsines' Bikini Body Guide
Instagram sensation Kayla Itsines has been the queen of transformation pictures over the last three years. The Australian personal trainer offers a bikini body guide that consists of 28-minute workouts. During these 28 minutes you have to do four circuits of seven minutes. The exercises are very diverse and target a different body area per routine. To maximise your results, it is advised to perform the workouts three times a week over a three month period and accompany the workouts with the bikini body diet. I completed the bikini body guide once and even though I like the fact that the workouts are short, I got bored with the same moves over and over again. Also, I am kind of hesitant to see the consequences of the infinite number of jump lunges and jump squats on my joints.
Coach Summer's gymnastic bodies program
Fitness is very important, but functionality is even more of a priority. Gymnastic Bodies is a program that is created by Coach Christopher Sommer, who is no ordinary gymnastics coach. Christopher Sommer is the former coach of the US national gymnastic team, achieving great accomplishments at the Olympics with his team. In the Gymnastic Bodies program you are taught the foundation exercises that in the long run enable you to perform gymnastic tricks such as a planche, handstand and single leg squat, with trainings of only 40 minutes a day. The unique thing of this program is that it is set up in cycles of three months, while it is actually focused on the long term. To fully complete the program from scratch can take approximately three up to four years. Another unique selling point of this program is that it is not primarily focussed on muscle development, but also on strengthening your joints. After three weeks only, I noticed that my body feels a lot suppler and stretched during the day. I just finished my first cycle and definitely plan to continue on this journey. Hopefully I’ll be able to report back on my gymnastic skills in a few years.
This list would not be complete without mentioning the newest hype: Pokémon GO! If you haven’t heard about this app by now, you must have been living under a rock for the past few months. Not only is this app a display of any 90’s kid fantasies, it also stimulates you to get out of the house and walk around the neighborhood. Not only do you get to catch Pokémon this way, walking distances will hatch your eggs. A 5K walk will do the trick. Do we need to say more? Just download the app on your iOS or Android device and see for yourself.
